Post Getting Back on Track
on: August 22, 2010, 16:04

Before my wedding I was totally focused on eating right and exercising. I even had a personal trainer to work out with. Since the wedding in January I have fallen completely off track. It’s time to get back to the gym and back on my healthy eating plan. My goal is to get back to going to the gym 3 days a week, start following my eating plan again and lose 10 pounds by November 30th.

Good for you!
It’s totally understandable that you ‘fell off the wagon’
Don’t be hard on yourself, but having a goal in mind to get back on track is the way to do it!
You look great anyway and I’m sure you’ll be where you want to be in no time!
Have fun working out and eating great foods :)

Not sure what eating plan you are going to follow, but here are a few key weight loss recommendations that have helped hundreds of my clients:

* Reduce processed carbohydrates as much as possible! These are foods made from grains that have been ground into flour/baked – bread, bagels, pasta, muffins, pretzels, boxed cereals etc. These foods increase insulin and subsequently increase fat storage. Instead go for whole grains in their natural state – quinoa, steel cut oats and amaranth are great choices. If you need your carb fix, like many people do… keep in mind that the best time to have bread and processed carbs is lunch… and the worst time is at dinner. If you can completely take out all starchy carbs from dinner… you’ll have amazing results!

* Eating 4-5 smaller meals instead of 3 big ones helps keep portion sizes down at meal times, and helps stabilize blood sugar… both important for weight loss.
It’s also really important to spread your calories out so that you are eating consistently during the day. Want to know how sumo wrestlers gain their weight when in training? They don’t eat all day and then have a huge dinner… that’s how it’s done! So if you are low in your calories during the day and then have a big dinner… it
it will work against your weight loss efforts. The body can only assimilate a certain number of calories at a time. If you eat 4-5 smaller meals, it can assimilate the calories. But if you eat two or three big meals, then it will store the extra calories as fat.

Hope that helps…
Good luck!
